Successful American Airstrikes Target ISEA Strongholds

MANILA--
The USS George Washington, forward deployed to the port of Davao in the Philippines, successfully launched an airstrike on ISEA strongholds in southern Philippines. Airstrikes bombed the southern side of the island of Jolo, the former stronghold of Islamic militant group Abu Sayyaf. The number of casualties are currently unknown, but a purported training facility was among the targets during the attacks.

The USS Nimitz, deployed from Manila, launched simultaneous airstrikes on ISEA facilities to the north of the capital. Numerous facilities were targeted, and successfully fired upon. Efforts were undertaken to avoid civilian casualties, though due to the nature of the location, nearby restaurants and a bus in the vicinity were also included in the blasts. The Filipino government has not yet confirmed how many casualties occurred by both civilians and militants.

US Navy Seals also captured eight ISEA operatives in the state of Maguindanao. They have since been transferred to American military forces for questioning.

Posts by ISEA militants on social media have called for other militants to carry out attacks in retaliation throughout the Philippines and the United States. No comment has been received as of yet by the Americans or Filipinos.
