Ethnic Reconciliation Film "Hoa + Kinh: A Tale of Two Troops" Released

Ethnic Hoa in Vietnam and in southern China have expressed strong support in the wake of the release of the film "Hoa + Kinh: A Tale of Two Troops". Sponsored in part by the Vietnamese government, the film seeks to portray a common bond between the two ethnic groups in forming the country's history.

Screenings of the film have largely reversed unease between ethnic groups, with most of the residents at temporary camps at the border returning to their homes throughout Vietnam, or joining with the Hoa diaspora communities in China's Yunnan Province.
