The treachery of Pham Binh Minh and Pham Vu Luan are not taken likely by the people of Vietnam. These men were appointed to their positions because they exhibited the qualities of strong leadership and integrity which we value above all else. Unfortunately they chose to abuse their power and the Communist Party was forced to punish two men who should have stood as examples to the people of Vietnam.  

For these actions we have been accused of scapegoating, of political instability, and for the destruction of “innocent” lives. The Communist Party of Vietnam would like to assure the people of Vietnam and of the world that this is false. Investigations conducted by the VPA produced solid evidence that Pham Vu Luan was embezzling scholarship money into offshore accounts and stirring up the ethnic rivalries which have since grown into violent riots. These were insufferable offences for a Minister of Education to be committing and so he was punished accordingly.

In the case of Pham Binh Minh it was discovered that our once-beloved Secretary of Foreign Affairs had been collaborating with China to create conflict in the South China Sea at the expense of his Fatherland. Treason is not only a selfish act, but his actions also endangered many lives and the safety of his country simply to promote his own agenda. This was also punished accordingly.

To conclude, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam is not what the world has been making it out to be. It is strong, it is just, and it is committed to the elimination of corruption within its government so that it may better nurture the citizens it serves.
