Chinese Airlines, Travel Agencies Pull Tours from Vietnam and Philippines
People’s Daily

Due to growing hostilities between Vietnam and the Philippines, Chinese travel agencies and airlines have pulled all services in both countries.
Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng and Minister of State Security Geng Huichang stated that China is extremely concerned with the “potentially detrimental resolution” and has recommended that the tourism sector cut ties with Vietnam and the Philippines for the time being for the safety of Chinese citizens. However, several airlines have assured the public that they will continue flights out of the country for a short period of time to ensure Chinese citizens can return home.
Recent reports in Vietnam and Philippines tell of heightened military tensions, in addition to rapid political destabilization. It is advised that all Chinese citizens reach out to their local embassy for more specific instructions.
