Press Statement of the United States

Given the recent extraordinary tensions between the Philippines and China, the United States, which has deployed Carrier Group 7, would like to update the region on this group’s location and capabilities. In addition to having a fully armed air craft carrier and relevant fighter aircraft, this carrier group also includes 4 Los Angeles class attack submarines, 5 Destroyers, and 2 cruisers. All of these vessels are fully armed with state-of-the-art weapons systems and highly-trained crew.

Currently, carrier group 7 is approximately 170 miles Southwest of Taiwan and just West of Pratas Island. This carrier group is intended to protect the Philippines from aggression by foreign powers and is fully prepared for battle.
