The United States of America condemns the recent kidnapping of a United States Marine as an act of aggression by the group Moro Islamic Liberation Front.  The United States has not and will not support acts of aggression at home or abroad, whether they are conducted by state-sponsored entities or otherwise.  MILF and destructive activities pose a threat to not only Americans abroad, but the peace and security of all in the Asia-Pacific.  

The United States strongly condemns the aggressive military escalatory measures in the South China Sea. We request all involved parties de-escalate the current situation by removing military assets from the South China Sea.   We are committed to peaceful resolution of conflict, however, if the situation continues to escalate, the United States Pacific Fleet is prepared to mobilize all relevant resources to the region.
