Uighurs Joining ISEA
CNN
In an unexpected turn of events, the Uighurs have joined the Islamic State of East Asia (ISEA). The Uighurs are an indigenous ethnic population in the Xinjiang region of China. Most Uighurs associate themselves with a Muslim identity and Islam is an important aspect of their daily life.
Most experts on the topic point toward the continued economic difficulties that the Uighurs have been experiencing. The region has been reliant on agricultural production, however numerous seasons of decreased production have lead to problems in the region. The ISEA has promised economic growth for the Uighur people and cooperation with other members of ISEA.
The Chinese government is yet to respond to the Uighurs actions but many believe they may become more involved in the fight against ISEA.
