Hồ Chí Minh City – Days after the sinking of the Chinese naval ship, the Nanjing, there is still little information for the cause of the ship’s sinking. As previously reported, Vietnam has claimed that it had no part to do with the ship’s sinking, despite taking part in joint naval operations with the Philippines in the East Sea. High-ranking government officials have looked to use their authority in the government to retrieve more information for the cause of the ship’s sinking. However, these efforts did not move far due to the unknown absence of key government officials. The means to retrieve this information is still unknown, however several outside sources have advised Vietnam’s leaders to flex their authority.
